a wild event
I love supporting
local Australian designers – there is just so much creativity and fabulous
ideas out there to discover! I recently stumbled across a great new initiative
called The Wild Collective – a soon
to be launched shopping event that combines creativity, new ideas and plenty of
space for fresh inspiration. The two day event is somewhere between an
exhibition/market/festival, but on an entirely new level!
Their website describes the event as a “curated collection of hard to find high-end
products that are standouts in their industry, complemented by superb
entertainment.” Basically it is the perfect space to spend a day gathering
inspiration, purchasing some new additions and enjoying yourself!
Unfortunately, the event is so far only in Melbourne (I might need to book
myself a ticket!), but hopefully it will also spread to Sydney in the near
future. In the meanwhile, have a scroll through their campaign imagery,
inspired by the modern whimsical fairytale – think frothy tutu’s running through
the forest with bare feet. These are the kinds of contrasts founders Amy and
Renee hope to bring to the contemporary shopper through this highly curated
event;
“With hectic lifestyles, we know all too well that
going shopping can sometimes be a chaotic stressful experience due to busy
schedules or juggling so much responsibility. The Wild Collective is
transforming the retail experience, celebrating creativity in all its forms.”
Have a browse
through their website and check out some of the gorgeous brands on offer –
Terrariums by Ella, Bijoux the Label, Little Puddles, 2Scrubs Thermomix and The
Little Things is just the beginning!
Foodies will be
spoilt for choice with luxurious
Melbourne dessert fave LuxBite (yum!), as well as food trucks such as Round the
Way and Billy Van Creamy.
Shoppers will definitely also appreciate
the dedicated kids zone, giving parents the much-needed chance to relax and leisurely
browse – perhaps even with a glass of champagne in hand! From homewears, to
fashion to instagrammable food and everything else in between, it will be like
your feed has come to life! Save the date in your iPhone now, and don’t forget to
share all your lovely photos onto Instagram and tag @thewildcollectiveau.

wild
Last Saturday I visited a cool new space - Wild Koubucha by Ballsy. It's a combined kombucha bar/ workshop space/art/food/medicine collaboratory on Parramatta Rd Leichhardt.
I first heard about it through The Locals Market, a fruit, veggie and flower bounty which I usually pick up from the Paramount Coffee Project in Surry Hills. When I heard orders could now be collected from Wild Koubucha, I thought I would check it out!
The space is an all white remastered warehouse that has been beautifully restored, with plenty of hanging plants and science beakers aplenty. The main focus is the Koubucha bar, where I tried this drink for the first time. It is an ancient Hawaiian probiotic brew that has amazing health benefits. I walked away with 3 bottles - orange coffee, cayenne/tumeric and and ginger. They have a rotating roster of flavours, so I will definitley be back soon! I also picked up a beautiful hand poured candle in the lovielst lemon myrtle scent, plus organic tea leaves made in Byron Bay.

weaving
I now have two weaves almost completed!
I started this one last night while watching television with the fam, and once I started I could not stop!!
I started this one last night while watching television with the fam, and once I started I could not stop!!
I had the most gorgeous wool to work with and I just love how the final product looks like a tutu skirt! I am already planning to make another one in a completely different colour way, but should probably finish my other weaving projects first!

life captured workshop
Last Saturday I took the drive up to beautiful Avalon to spend the day at LIFE:CAPTURED, a photography and memory keeping workshop! The workshop was hosted by blogger Pink Ronnie along with photographer Trish from Tealily Photography.
On arrival I was in awe of the fabulous home of Zoe from @theweddingnest and I knew straight away what a creative day it would be! With location on point, Trish helped us get aquainted with the manual functions on our cameras and we spent the morning practicing our new skills around this gorgeous space!
We refulled with a delicious baked salmon and salad lunch outside on the verandah and enjoyed a chat with some lovely ladies.
After lunch it was time to learn about Lightroom, photo organising and memory keeping with Ronnie. She was very patient with the various experience levels in the group (especially with me!), teaching us how to archive and organise our images.
It was a lovely day with great company and I left with a fabulous goodie bag and feeling very inspired!
All images by me, My Fabulous Design (except for image one which is The Wedding Nest Zoe's gorgeous space, featured in the latest Country Home Ideas).
